• St. Anthony's offers three (3) very distinctive academic programs.

    1) SECONDARY LEVEL

    2) LEARNING CHALLENGES

    3) ADVANCED LEVEL (Post Secondary Level)

Secondary Level Program

This runs from Form 1 – 5 and is drawn from local, regional, North American and the curriculum in the United Kingdom. It is designed to facilitate a smooth transition into the CSEC Curriculum which takes precedents in Forms 4 and 5.

End of year High School Exams or CXC (Caribbean Examination Council) are taken at the end of FORM/GRADE - 5/11

FORMS/GRADES - 1/7, 2/8, 3/9, 4/10, 5/11

Learning Challenges

The program is offered for students with Literacy Deficiencies, Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD and High Functioning Autism.

The objectives are:

  • ♦To provide an opportunity and a pathway for students challenged with learning difficulties or environmental/emotional challenges to be part of a secondary school environment and a semi inclusive programme.

  • ♦To set suitable learning challenges for students ensuring a wider range of subjects and experiences usually associated with secondary education.

  • ♦To offer a supportive setting through which students can continue to develop, physical, cognitive, communication, emotional and behavioural skills in order to maximize their knowledge and understanding.

  • ♦To collaborate with other Educational Institutions and organizations for progression to further education and vocational training.

  • ♦To work with parents/guardians in the best interest of the student.

Tertiary Department/ Advanced Level Programme (CAPE)

Welcome to the Tertiary Department - Your Bridge Between High School and University

The Tertiary Department at St. Anthony’s Secondary School is a dynamic post-secondary programme designed to help students successfully transition from high school to university or the world of work.

Our two-year programmes OR one-year programme offer a unique blend of academic rigor and personal development opportunities, ensuring our students are fully prepared for the challenges and expectations of higher education and life beyond the classroom.

Academic Excellence

Students are enrolled in CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination) courses that provide them with college-level credits and build a strong academic foundation.

We offer:

  • CAPE Diploma option – a flexible path allowing students to complete required general education courses and selected career courses.

  • CAPE Associate Degree option – a structured course of study outlined by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) to earn a full associate degree.

  • Pre-College Programme – a one-year stepping stone designed to help students transition smoothly while earning transferable credits to university-level courses.

Please note: Most U.S. universities require students to also have passed their SAT examinations as part of their admission criteria.

Personal Development – Our Non-Academic Advantage

We are committed to developing well-rounded individuals, not just strong students. Every student participates in our mandatory non-academic programme, which focuses on personal growth, life skills, and wellness:

Life Balance Seminars - Weekly interactive sessions with guest presenters on topics such as:

  • Navigating adulthood

  • Career exploration & professional development

  • Resume writing & interview skills

  • Public speaking & communication

  • Time management & goal setting

Wellness Programme - Designed to nurture the mind and body, our wellness programme is divided into two weekly classes:

  • Yoga & Movement: breathing, stretching, and physical wellness

  • Mental Health Group Sessions: led by our licensed therapist, focused on emotional well-being, stress management, and self-care strategies
